The Art Hub is a dynamic, 1,200-square-foot artist-run gallery space located inside downtown Victoria’s iconic Capitol 6 Building at 1205 Blanshard St. This high-profile location sees roughly 20,000 passing cars daily, and is minutes away from a diverse eco-system of performance venues, retail stores, restaurants and hotels offering exceptional exposure for local creators.
As an artist-centred organization, the space is operated entirely by the artists themselves. The gallery handles marketing, packaging, and point-of-sale logistics, keeping regular retail hours 5 days a week from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, plus special evening events.
To maintain a vibrant visitor experience, members are selected to ensure a diverse variety of styles and mediums and skills.
Membership Options at a Glance
Artists can join the collective through one of two distinct pathways:
Option 1: Full Member (Contributing Creator)
For artists wanting year-round downtown presence, solo exhibitions, and a hands-on role in the collective.
Dedicated Space: A 6’ × 8’ dedicated wall to display and self-curate work year-round.
3D Artists: Joint curation of prominent floor and window spaces (limited to 8 artists total).
Solo Exhibit: A promoted, guaranteed 3-week self-curated solo exhibit, every 12 to 14 months in Gallery OLO, a bright 380 square foot gallery with 9 foot ceilings and 78 feet of wall space.
Earnings: Artist keeps 80% of sales after square fees. The remaining 20% is split equally between the gallery and the member who made the sale.
Cost & Time: 10 hours of gallery work per month plus $150/month dues or $120/month, if opting out of the solo exhibit.
Sales Track Alternative: Work ~18 hours per month on the sales floor instead, with the extra hours offset by earning a 10% commission on closed sales.
Option 2: Consignment Member (Non-Contributing)
For artists seeking high-traffic retail exposure with zero monthly dues or time commitments.
Zero Commitments: No monthly fees and no gallery shift work.
Earnings: Artist keeps 60% of sales.
Exclusions: Does not guarantee a full-time dedicated wall or a feature slot in the rotating solo gallery or the option to self-curate. Artwork will be agreed upon by the artist and the curation team.
